Simone DeGiorgio

Director & Childbirth Educator

Simone is the Director of Maternal Journey and has been working in Hamilton New Zealand as a Childbirth Educator since 2002, supporting families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting.  Simone is also a qualified Massage Therapist and registered Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage.

Prior to becoming a Childbirth Educator Simone worked in Australia, supporting women and children in community based welfare organisations, predominantly in crisis support and education.

Simone’s passion for education and support has lead her to provide the many parenting workshops and courses provided by Maternal Journey, focusing on enhancing the relationship between parent and child.

Simone is also a mother of three.

Bev Hampton

Childbirth Educator (Dip CBE) and Birthlight Pregnancy Yoga Instructor

Bev is a Registered Physiotherapist (BHSc Physio), Childbirth Educator (Dip CBE) and Birthlight Pregnancy Yoga Instructor, as well as a mother of three beautiful boys.

Bev has a comprehensive understanding of the childbearing time in a woman’s life, and is able to offer a very holistic approach around this. Services that Bev offers through Maternal Journey include Pregnancy Massage and Postnatal Massage, weekly Pregnancy Yoga and Relaxation sessions as well as Antenatal Education classes.

Bev’s Physiotherapy background is in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in private practice both in Australia and New Zealand, and in the specialised area of Women’s Health Physiotherapy. Bev has a particular focus on antenatal and postnatal assessment and treatment. Bev decided to extend her passion in the area of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal support through training to become a Childbirth Educator after the birth of her first child.

Georgie Fitzpatrick

Pregnancy Yoga Instructor and Educator

Georgie is a mother of two boys, personal trainer, prenatal yoga teacher and Kangatraining instructor. She became very passionate about women’s health after she had her first son and over the years she has become a bit of a pelvic floor geek.

She loves that she is able to offer women in our community a safe place to exercise during pregnancy and postnatally. Her goal is to focus on providing support to women with pelvic floor dysfunction, as she knows on a personal level how it impacts the quality of life!

Georgie is excited to be joining the team at Maternal Journey as our services align with her values around caring for women and babies.

Jessie Scirkovich

Maternity Massage Therapist (CMT)

Jessie is one of our Maternal Journey Massage Therapists, with several years of applied experience in her specialised area of maternity massage therapy.

Jessie is a mother of four beautiful children. She is very passionate about natural health and wellbeing and supporting mothers with their self-care goals.

Jessie’s formal training and work experience along with her own maternal journeys, places her in a position to assist mothers safely during the pregnancy, labour and post-partum periods.
